5 Reasons why The Galaxy M31 Is The Bargain Phone Of The Year

In the last couple of years, Samsung has changed its view on mid-range and budget devices. Instead of hoarding the best hardware for its more expensive phones, like it did in the past, the company has allowed higher-end bits to trickle down into the lower-end devices.

Case in point, the Samsung Galaxy M31. Barring its gorgeous case color, the phone comes equipped with features that are almost non-existent on this side of the smartphone market. And as such, we would like to highlight some of the finer ones that should make the M31 an enticing prospect for most cosnumers.

#1 – Mid-Range Hardware
The phone is equipped with the Exynos 9611 and 6GB RAM. This combination offers reliable performance, regardless of the task at hand. Apps take a little longer to launch compared to higher-end devices, but that isn’t a deal breaker. If you are an average phone user, the performance deficit won’t be that noticeable.

#2 – It Records 4K Video
A feature formerly reserved for flagship devices, The M31 is able to capture decent footage with its quad-camera setup. However, capturing smooth video can be a little challenging due to the absence of proper image stabilization, but that is to be expected of a budget device.

#3 – 64MP Camera
That’s right, it has the hardware to take some pretty detailed shots. Mind, the results don’t measure up to the A71 or S10, but it’s adept at capturing decent photos. Tweaking the settings can yield better results, but overall, its a good camera.

#4 – It Has A 6000mAh battery
This is one of the more alluring aspects of the phone. The fact that it offer users two full days of battery life, puts in a different league compared to other devices of its ilk. Most smartphones have slightly more than half of the M31 battery size, even the flagship ones.

#5 – It Has A Headphone Jack
Let’s face it, the headphone jack is scheduled for extinction. Apple championed its obsolescence with the iPhone X, and many Android smartphone makers have done the same. Thankfully, the campaign is only aimed at higher-end devices, for now.

The M31, and several other budget devices still have the legacy port, allowing us to tether it to our wired earphones of our choice. Bluetooth may be the way forward, but to those of us who already have a favorite pair of wired headphones, change isn’t a necessity at this time.
