5 Reasons Why The Galaxy Tab S7 FE Is a good Christmas Gift
December 12, 2021Samsung wowed the world when it introduced us to the Tab S7 Plus. It was a 12.4-inch tablet that had the power to taken full-fledged laptops. The only drawback that it had was its price tag. As such, only those with deep pockets could afford one. Then came the Fan Edition of its namesake.
As is the pattern of such products, Samsung takes the most useful features that made the original product a hit and place them into a more affordable package. the Tab S7 FE costs less than half of that of the Tab S7 Plus, and there’s a reason for it. But we aren’t going to dwell on said misgivings here, instead, we’re going to highlight what makes it a great gift for someone this Christmas.
Powerful hardware
It might not have the same hardware chops as the Tab S7 Plus, but the FE is able to hold its own thanks to its Snapdragon 778 5G chipset. It’s the same internals that’s in the A52s 5G phone, minus 2GB of RAM. You can get this tablet with either 4GB of 6GB RAM, we recommend that you spring for the latter, to ensure smoother multi-tasking activities.
The hardware lets the FE function like its cousin, safe for video editing and similarly intensive computational tasks. It’s perfect for filling in spreadsheets, jotting down notes, writing documents or watching content.
It has a massive screen
The 12.4-inch, 1080p Super AMOLED display is small enough that it remains easy to carry in hand but large enough to allow you to get real work done. The drawback associated with compact tablets are the sparseness of screen real-estate. Aside from reading magazines o e-books, watching content and taking occasional notes, there’s little else “real work” that tablets like the Tab A7 Lite and Tab S6 Lite can accomplish.
Samsung DeX
Not only is it a very useful tool to turn a tablet into a pseudo-PC, but when the Tab S7 FE is connected to an external monitor or TV, said peripherals can function as a secondary monitor, thus expanding your level of productivity or entertainment. The only foreseeable problem is the letterbox view for unoptimized Android apps. They simply can’t make full use of the extra screen real estate.
Laptop substitute
Let’s face it, Android tablets have come a long way since their humble beginning as glorified smartphones. Microsoft Office, Google Workspace apps and a whole host of other productivity programs run on Android. Tablets can make good use of them to enable PC-like functionality.
The Tab S7 FE is the perfect size to replace an aging laptop or one tasked with handling non-creative workloads. As such, it can mirror your smartphone’s functionality while giving you the required screen real estate to be a useful laptop. Full disclosure, to turn it into an actual PC, you’ll need a keyboard case or a Bluetooth keyboard, but either option can be purchased at a relatively affordable price.
What Fits the Tab S7 Plus, Fits the Tab S7 FE
Since they have similar dimensions, the Tab S7 Plus’s carrying case, snap-on keyboard and other peripherals fit perfectly on the FE. Said accessories are aplenty on e-merchant sites. This will allow you to customize the tablet to fit a desired purpose instead of having to settle for what’s available.
