5 Ways the Galaxy Watch4 Can Help You Stay Fit in 2022
January 2, 2022Many of us have a New Year’s resolution to keep fit in 2022 but unfortunately that’s easier said than done. Hectic work schedules, family commitments and social events tend to get in the way throughout the year. This tends to hamper our fitness progress and prevent us from reaching set goals.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 may be the answer. When launched in 2021, it broke with convention. Instead of carrying an exuberant price tag the way its predecessor, the Watch3 did, the latest model is being pushed as an “affordable” smartwatch with fitness tracking capabilities. When paired with a compatible smartphone via the Health app, data captured on the watch can be analyzed thoroughly.
The following are few ways in which the Watch4 can keep you fit through 2022:
Keep Active with Sedentary Tracking
Many of us spend most of our work lives tied to our desks. Other than the occasional leisurely stroll to the pantry or attending conference meetings, we see very little need to get up and move about. That can be a problem because a sedentary lifestyle can lead to all kinds of health issues including cardio vascular diseases.
The Watch4 monitors how active you are throughout the day and periodically reminds you to get up and stretch. It offers several different exercises to help keep the blood flowing and ensure you stay active. If you’re busy with a work-related task, the watch lets you delay said exercise. Keeping active throughout the day will ensure that you stave off those pesky pounds throughout the year.
Reminder To Drink Enough Water
Staying hydrated throughout the day can help you maintain mental focus and ensure that your skin stays healthy. But it also plays an important role in weight loss. Some studies show that drinking enough water a day helps with weight loss regiments.
Set your water intake goal with the respective widget on the Watch4. It keeps tracking of how many glasses of water you’ve drunk throughout the day. That said, we wish it was able to remind us to drink water when we fall behind our daily goal.
Step Counter
Like most fitness trackers, the Watch4 provides information on how many steps you’ve taken each day and tabulates this information throughout the month via the Samsung Health app. You can choose to have this step counter displayed as a complication on your watch face or have it displayed as its own tile within the main interface. Either way, said information is available at a glance.
Samsung Health Tracking
The Samsung Health app records all the data that the Watch4 captures and tabulates it into an easy-to-understand chart or graph. The metrics include heart rate, stress levels, sleep analysis, water intake, step counter, overall wellness as well as several others.
Taking a quick glance every day will help you assess your fitness levels and gauge whether you are falling behind. My favorite part is reviewing workout routines and whether they have made an impact on my targeted weight loss regiment. It offers a breakdown of the various activities that I’ve done, the durations and the estimated calories I’ve burnt for each session.
There are several other features available such as blood glucose levels and blood pressure monitoring, which will need to be adjusted manually. This is especially true in countries like Malaysia where blood pressure monitoring is still not available for the Watch4.
Sleep Tracking
When enabled, the Watch4 keeps track of the quality of sleep that you have each night. When worn at night, it monitors your movements, including bedtime routines and pushes that information to the Samsung Health app. This information can then be used to measure how well you sleep each night.
Having sufficient sleep can help keep your body function at an optimal level. It also helps to reduce weight gain and keep you fit throughout the year. In addition to this, the Watch4 can also help remind you when it’s time to hit the hey to ensure that you have a restful night of sleep.
