A new service from Apple brings together device management, 24/7 Apple Support, and iCloud storage into flexible subscription plans for small businesses with up to 500 employees. Additionally, the company introduced Apple Business Essentials, which allows employees to download apps and ask for support.

Apple Business Essentials helps small businesses save time as they grow. This service, available in beta today, enables small businesses to manage their devices throughout the entire device life cycle, including deploying devices, onboarding employees, and upgrading devices, while also ensuring strong security, priority support, and safe data storage.

“Our economy thrives on small businesses, and we’re proud of the role Apple products play in helping these companies grow,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Enterprise and Education Marketing, said. ‘Apple Business Essentials’ helps businesses streamline employee device management – from device setup, to onboarding, to upgrading, and from accessing fast support to keeping data backed up and secure, so they can concentrate on running their business.”

Complete Solution Simple Setup
A small business can easily deploy, configure, and manage Apple products from anywhere with Apple Business Essentials, a complete solution that makes employee onboarding simple.

Individual users, groups, and devices can be configured as part of Apple Business Essentials collections. The application automatically pushes Wi-Fi passwords and VPN configurations to employees’ corporate or personal devices when they sign in with their work credentials. A new Apple Business Essentials app will be installed on every user’s home screen, where employees will be able to download corporate apps assigned to them, such as Cisco Webex and Microsoft Word.

Secure FileVault, Activation Lock, and User Enrollment
Maintaining strong security in your organization is easy with Apple Business Essentials. FileVault for full-disk encryption on Mac and Activation Lock for preventing lost or stolen devices are two of the most critical security settings that Apple Business Essentials enforces so they don’t get turned off accidentally.
By creating a cryptographic separation between work data and personal data, User Enrollment ensures that employee data remains private while company data remains secure when employees use their own devices at work.

With iCloud, you can store and back up your data securely
As part of Apple Business Essentials, you’ll receive a dedicated iCloud account, which will provide streamlined setup, onboarding, and storage, backup, and collaboration features. In iCloud, all business data is automatically backed up and synchronized across devices, making it easy to switch between devices or upgrade to a new device.

AppleCare+ for Business Essentials provides comprehensive support and repairs
With prioritized Apple Support, companies can provide fast and reliable service for employee devices. Adding AppleCare+ for Business Essentials to a business’ plan provides 24/7 phone support, training of both IT administrators and employees, and two device repairs per plan per year. The new Apple Business Essentials app lets employees initiate repairs directly from the app, and an Apple-certified technician can be onsite in as little as four hours to fix the problem.

Flexible Subscription
There are three simple Apple Business Essentials plans that businesses can choose from to cover all their employees and devices. Starting at $2.99 per month, plans can be customized to support up to three devices and up to 2TB of secure storage in iCloud, with optional AppleCare+.
