A Mazda RX-7 Look-A-Like Is This Week’s Los Santos Tuners’ Prize Ride

This week’s Prize Ride reward of GTA V Online: Los Santos Tuners is the Annis ZR350. It’s a facsimile of Mazda’s FD RX-7 with minor changes made to the body contours and lights. Unlike previous DLCs, Los Santos Tuners introduces vehicles that closely resemble their real-life counterparts. It’s a stark departure from what we are used to seeing from the game’s creators.

Until recently, cars featured here aren’t 100% identical to the real-life ones they are modeled after. Game publishers resort to this to skirt licensing issues associated with the respective automakers. However, the lack of effort by Rockstar in Los Santos tuners is simply baffling. Besides the Annis ZR350, several other vehicles appear to be untouched as well.

I’m not upset about this we are now able to drive and crash some of the best looking cars ever made. The Annis ZR350 is being offered as the Prize Ride Challenge reward for this week. To win it, you’ll need to at least finish 4th in 5 pursuit races. It’s easier said than done, because the race series happens to be one of the most challenging ones in the game.

Besides racing wheel-to-wheel with other players to the finish line, you will also have to deal with the over-enthusiastic LSPD who seem hell bent on ruining your race. Think of it as Need For Speed on steroids, because the coordinated takedowns, roadblocks with spike strips, and use of live ammunition are immensely difficult to avoid.

It’s simply impossible to predict the winner of each race because of the chaos that is induced by multiple collisions between racers and the relentless battering that they receive from the LSPD. Unlike NFS, the officers on foot aim their weapons at your tyres to slow you down – they have a good aim too. The best way to avoid a flat tyre is to drive as fast as possible.

It took me several hours to finally meet the criteria for the Prize Ride Challenge. It’s a really good looking vehicle with an equally sweet sounding rotary engine, which made the difficulty in acquiring the car, worth the effort. If you own a copy of GTA V, participating in Los Santos Tuners is a must. It introduces several cool vehicles and modifications, new heist missions and many other features that are bound to keep entertained for days that could turn into several weeks.

Los Santos Tuners offers many hours of enjoyable street racing madness as the online GTA V community comes together to celebrate everything automotive. It’s like Need For Speed Underground, but in an actual open world environment where you can shoot people. Try it out for yourself now.
