AI Coach Aims To Nurture New Gen Leaders

Leadership training and workshops are some of the main tools organizations use to keep their workforce ‘in shape’. However, some say that current methods of the old guard are simply lost on the new generation of corporate workers. Millennials account for 35% of the current working population with one in five of them holding managerial roles.

Couple this with the WFH (work from home) shift due to the pandemic, and we could start to see cracks emerge in leadership roles across various sectors. This is why BUNCH thinks that artificial intelligence could be a cautious solution. BUNCH is an AI-based leadership coach built for the millennial generation. It is supposed to combine micro-learning with data personalization.

It’s available for free on iOS devices (Android version planned for early next year), where users will receive 2-minute tips each day to help them discover their leadership style. They are based on a proprietary leadership competency model, but are inspired by successful leaders and vetted by leadership coaches.

It’s a way of ‘trimming the fat’, by eliminating the need for physical meetings, dedicated time slots and ill planned curriculum that simply aren’t effective. Apparently, BUNCH is the amalgamation of years worth of psychological research and interview-based findings. It has raised $3.4 million in Seed funding led by M13.

“Leadership used to be a status reserved for an exclusive group of people,” said Darja Gutnick, Co-Founder and CEO. “We believe anyone can be a leader in their own way – regardless of whether they’re leading themselves, a team, or an entire company.”

The AI coach is now available to use. However, it’s still in the beta phase, so expect some performance issues for the time being. But its creators have lofty goals to offer an effective way to coach and educate people who are eager to master their profession.
