Over the years, the company has been steadily increasing the number of phone models that it offers. Taking a page out of Samsung’s book, Cupertino is trying to position itself in such a way that it has ‘something for everyone’. The A14 Bionic, Apple’s latest chip, which made its debut in the new iPad Air, should be powering said devices.

As per the post-COVID-19 situation, Apple will be live streaming its launch event on October 13, 2020 at 10 am PDT. Invitations sent out to certain outlets have a caption that reads “Hi, Speed”. This is probably an affirmation to the presence of the A14 Bionic chipset powering said devices, or could mean that as well as the inclusion of 5G.

The A14 Bionic can offer 40% better CPU performance and 30% improvement to graphics. It also has a new 16-core Neural Engine that is twice as fast as the previous generation chip. In addition to this, it has happens to have second generation machine learning accelerators in its CPU, which Apple pegs it to be 10 times faster than before.

The improved GPU performance also plays a part in in image recognition, natural language learning, analyzing motion, and more. Apple has been placing greater emphasis on AI and machine learning in recent years. Processing speed is no longer its only concern, it wants to harness the power of artificial intelligence to improve iOS’ ability to meet user demands.
