Bad Guys Don’t Carry iPhones
March 2, 2020Here’s how you can tell who the good guys are in any given murder-mystery movie. The villains aren’t allowed to have iPhones, that’s Apple’s rule. As absurd as this may sound, it came right from the horse’s mouth.
Rian Johnson, the director of the ever popular murder-mystery movie “Knives Out”, admitted this, in an interview with Vanity Fair. Apparently, Apple doesn’t allow its phones to be used by movie baddies.
This may seem a little heavy-handed, but Apple may just be trying to protect its brand image. Apple devices, both mobile and computers, are some of the most sought after products on the market. Despite commanding hefty prices, the demand is undeniable.
Now, that the cat is out of the bag, the suspense in such movies won’t have the same effect as before. If a protagonist is carrying or using an iPhone in any movie, he/she is probably not a bad apple – pun intended.
