Do More With Voice Shortcuts

Google is stepping it up a notch with improved voice features. The Google Voice Assistant can now complete more demanding tasks by accessing your various apps. You now have the ability to open and search for something specific within Android apps. For example, users can say, “Hey Google, search cozy blankets on Etsy”.

There’s also the ability to create customs shortcut phrases. Instead of saying a generic phrase, you can make your own, that the voice assistant will interpret correctly and respond to accordingly. In case you feel lost, you can access suggested shortcuts by saying, “Hey Google, show my shortcuts” to get to the settings screen.”

This could prove useful in situations where repeating lengthy phrases can be too cumbersome to pronounce. This way, you can access your favorite Spotify playlist or send a message to a close friend with a brief but concise command.
