French Door Fridge, It’s The Upgrade You Might Want
June 22, 2021Most of us have very little regard for refrigerators. As long as they keep our food and beverages cool, we’re willing to put up with their “beigeness” and drab boxy designs. But Samsung believes that this shouldn’t be the case because a refrigerator can be more than just a kitchen appliance. It could be cool enough to fit in with the décor, offer convenient storage and save electricity.
Such is the case with the Samsung French Door With Cooling model, which has a storage capacity of up to 511L. The term French Door in its nomenclature represents the style of having two narrow doors that open outward instead of the conventional, large single door. This design allows easier access to items by the side that you want.
The drawback that’s associated with conventional refrigerators is that no matter the size of the item you wish to pick up, the entire door will need to be swung open. This causes massive amounts of cold air to waft out of the appliance and allow warmer air into it. Once you close the door, the cooling mechanism has to work to bring the temperature back down.
Though this problem is present with French Door refrigerators, the effect is considerably lesser than single door units. The reason being, a single narrow door allows less cold air to escape compared to a conventional one. The configuration is also supposed to offer better storage and tray options in addition to having a more spacious layout.
Samsung’s French Door unit has the freezer compartment moved to the bottom. This is a more practical move, because instead of having to bend over to pick out a snack or beverage, you can stand upright and choose what you want at your leisure. Improvements have also been made to the freezer space because it has its own capacious slide out racks for easier storage.
Other notable features include its Twin Cooling Plus technology that helps preserve food and their flavor for longer. The No Frost tech enhances internal airflow to prevent ice build up. This in turn helps save energy by placing less demand on the cooling system (compressor comes with 10-year warranty). Lastly, its digital inverter produces less noise and offer better energy efficiency.
The Samsung French Door With Twin Cooling retails for RM4,099.00 and comes in dark grey, which the company calls “Gentle Black Matt”. If you would like to know more about this appliance visit Samsung’s official website.
