Google Pixelbook Go, the affordable option

Google has introduced a new laptop called the Pixelbook Go, which is a follow up device to the original that was launched in 2017. This new computer has a matte finish and a finely painted magnesium casing. The bottom section features a ribbed texture which should prevent slippage when gripped.

Weighing barely 2 pounds (0.9kg), the Pixelbook Go is only 13mm thin, making it ultra-portable despite the performance at its disposable. Google says that this 13.3-inch touchscreen laptop offers 12 hours of service on a single charge. And with only 20 minutes of charging, offers two hours of battery life.

According to Google, the Pixelbook Go’s keyboard is fitted with hush keys, enabling almost silent keystrokes. The search giant feels that this feature will be appealing to those working in quite places like coffee shops or libraries. The inaudible typing work, regardless of speed, will prove less distracting compared to conventional laptop mechanisms.

The Pixelbook Go is made from the same components that Google uses to build the rest of its computer line-up, meaning that performance is on par with the rest of the family. Boot up takes about two seconds, resulting in speedy load times and ensuring that users stay connected for longer.

This isn’t surprising, because Chrome OS was designed to run efficiently on low end hardware. That said, the Pixelbook Go should have a fair amount of power thanks to Intel’s latest generation chips. Security is top notch too, allowing users to quickly and security access the web or their favorite apps at any time.

Available in either Just Black or Not Pink, the Pixelbook Go is priced at $649 and is available
for pre-order today. Google has yet to announce global launch dates, but that should be revealed soon.
