Google Chrome has finally been updated to reflect its true potential as a universal web browser for various computing platforms. Chrome works across Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome OS. As long as you are signed in with the same account across your machines, what you save or bookmark on one system will be ready for you when you access Chrome on another one.

Besides offering an unrivaled level of continuity, Chrome’s extensions also add another level of functionality that makes it an indispensable tool for productivity users. They are basically mini programs that add-on features to the browser. They can do any number of things from highlighting, adding themes, Google dictionary or sharing Office documents via Drive.

The following is a list of features built into Chrome that you might find useful:

Reopen Closed Tabs
Have you ever accidentally closed an important Chrome tab? We’ve all been there, which is why we can empathize with users who have to frantically rifle through their browsing history to revisit said website. Well, now that is no longer a problem because Google Chrome lets you reopen tabs that you’ve recently closed.

All you have to do is right click on the tab bar and select reopen closed tab, it’s that simple. Chrome will reopen tabs in chronological order, with the most recent ones being opened first followed by progressively older ones. Depending on how you’ve used them last, Chrome might open recently closed tabs in a new window.

Share links with others
Now, you can use the new share menu to share a link, create a QR code, or send said link to your phone. To do this, click the share icon in your address bar, then select one of several sharing options that are available, which include emailing it sharing the link on social media platforms.

This feature not only allows you to share links instantly, but helps you access them on your phone, so that they can be viewed at a later time. It’s this level of convenience that makes us more reliant on Google’s web browser.

Chrome Profiles
If multiple users share a single computer, it can be difficult to keep your bookmarks and extensions to yourself. That is why you should try Chrome profiles. If every user has their own profile, then you won’t have to worry about losing bookmarks, important reading lists or extensions. This also applies to people who prefer to keep their work and personal browsing separate.

You can do this by clicking on the profile icon at the top right-hand corner of your browser window. Then click add, to add a new profile or select an existing one. Now, when you revisit Chrome, select your profile and Chrome will transform to how you last left it. Remember to sign out after you’re done with a session.

Create a Tab Group
If you have multiple tabs open at once, it can become difficult to keep track of them. That’s why Chrome has a neat feature that lets you group similar tabs into a group that you can access or hide by clicking on the group name. In addition to this, Chrome lets you move you change the color of a group tab or move it to an entirely new window.

Once you’re done, you can ungroup the tabs or close all of them completely with a single click by selecting Close Group. This feature can be a time saver for people who open different tabs for various research work or plan leisurely activities.
