Apple has released a power bank that anchors to the iPhone 12’s rear via the phone’s internal magnet. Called the MagSafe Battery Pack, the relatively small device can deliver 5W of charging power to your compatible iPhone. When connected to an external power source (20W or higher) , it can deliver 15W of power.

Besides this, Apple says that you can attach the Battery Pack to your iPhone 12, but connect said phone to an external power adapter. While the phone is being charged, the MagSafe Battery Pack receives juice from the phone itself. Apple recommends this method of charging if you need to connect the iPhone to another device as well (reverse charging with iPhone).

Now, when you connect your phone to the Battery Pack, there might be a notification that pops up saying : “Your iPhone will charge only up to 90%”. If you want it to charge to full, you will need to open the Control Centre and hold the Low Power Mode icon, then tap continue.

The MagSafe Battery Pack can be changed via lightning cable. The battery capacity is still unknown at this time, and we hope that changes soon. If you are interested in buying this accessory, it can be purchased from the Apple Store online for $99.00/RM479.00. The device is compatible with the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
