AMD has unveiled its new line of graphic cards for both desktop PCs and laptops. The RX5600 series is said to offer up to 20% better performance in 1080p gaming, than those from the competition. First, there’s the RX 5600 XT that will be available in custom designs and from AMD board partners.

Then there’s the RX 5600, a slightly lower end card that will be included in pre-configured desktop computers including the new Alienware Aurora gaming setups. Laptops will get the RX 5600M GPU, which AMD says can deliver impressive performance for 1080p gaming.

Higher up the order of laptop grade graphics chips is the RX 5700M. It has the same compute units of the RX 5600 XT but 2GB extra ram and higher clock speed. It’s impressive for what it is but AMD would like to point our that the RX 5600 Series offers the same capabilities and features of the 5700 Series cards.

Several of these features include RDNA Architecture that boosts performance, scalibility and power efficiency compared to previous gen cards (RX 590). Radeon Boost, increases performance during fast-motion gaming by reducing the image resolution to improve frame rates.

Radeon Anti-Lag, is a feature that is said to significantly decrease input-to-display response times, helping to provide gamers with a competitive edge. Last but not least is Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS) that aims to improve sharpness and clarity of gaming graphics that have been softened due to upscalling and post-process effects.

AMD Radeon™ RX 5600 XT graphics cards are expected to be available beginning January 21, 2020, for an SEP of $279 USD from AMD board partners, including ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, SAPPHIRE and XFX. THe RX 5600, RX 5600M and RX 5700M will be available in OEM systems sometime in the first quarter of 2020.
