In collaboration with Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., OPPO unveiled the industry’s first 5G Enterprise Network Slicing Solution for Android 12 commercially available devices.

With this OPPO Find X5 Pro powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform and Qualcomm X65 Modem-RF System, running Android 12, the 5G enterprise network slicing solution, developed in cooperation with Ericsson Dynamic Network Slicing Selection and 5G RAN Slicing solution, allows OPPO Find X5 Pro users to select a route and policy for their device according to the network slices.

These three companies have demonstrated a pre-commercial 5G network slicing solution at OPPO’s 5G Communications Lab. At the first demonstration of the solution, OPPO worked closely with Ericsson and Qualcomm to establish connections between the chip module, wireless network, and the core network.

“Together with our partners, OPPO will enable a wide range of OPPO product users to be the first to access custom-tailored 5G connectivity experiences that are based on our company mission, Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World.” said Xia Yang, Senior Director of Carrier Product Line, OPPO.

“This solution, developed in partnership with OPPO and Qualcomm Technologies and based on Ericsson’s 5G Core and 5G RAN Slicing technologies, allows enterprises to meet their network security, reliability and flexibility needs.” said by Monica Zethzon, Head of Solution Area Packet Core at Business Area Cloud Software and Services, Ericsson.

The growth of technologies
The growth of the Network allows the creation of slices that could be tailored to specific games or platforms, providing users with more immersive and responsive connectivity that is independent of other network traffic. The use of network slices set up for low latency and high reliability with a large number of connected devices can be a foundation for smarter operations when applied to IoT applications such as smart factories.
