OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charging Revolutionized The Smartphone Industry

September 23, 2021 Off By Rowena Cletus

OPPO recently launched the Reno6 series, which includes the brand’s famous VOOC Flash Charge technology. But it’s not just that the SuperVOOC Flash Charge utilizes an advanced intelligent chip to protect the adapter, USB cable, cellphone and battery, so it’s a must-have for gamers, watchers, and content creators.

There are new requirements for mobile phone battery life and charging experiences due to the proliferation of apps such as games and videos that use a lot of power. Large-scale commercial 5G use has also led to new battery life and charging requirements. An impressive four-hour video watch time or 100 minutes of PUBG mobile gaming can be had by users after a brief five-minute charge of a Reno6 smartphone using VOOC Flash Charge technology.

The brand strives to deliver VOOC Flash Charge technology that caters to the charging needs of users in all conditions, across multiple devices, and in a variety of situations, while alleviating the ‘charge anxiety’ of 5G users.

FEATURING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS:
OPPO introduced its highly anticipated Reno 6 Series on September 7th, 2021. And its rapid change technology, VOOC Flash Charge, has greatly benefited consumers with faster, safer flash charging.

SuperVOOC launched in 2018, providing double the charging power over its predecessor. Then OPPO announced the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0, breaking the previous record. Last year OPPO announced its future revolutionary 125W charging technology, 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge, 50W mini SuperVOOC charger, and 110W mini flash charger.

OPPO VOOC flash charge series currently supports over 30 OPPO models. As a leader in flash charging technology, OPPO has launched a variety of peripheral accessories including flash charger power banks and flash charger car chargers, along with cross-border collaborations with Gundam, Pokémon, EVA Evangelion, Detective Conan, and others.

FIVE LEVELS OF PROTECTIVE LAYERING

OPPO says it places safety and efficiency at the forefront of its Flash Charge technology development. The entire charging system at OPPO adheres to this concept, ensuring the most comprehensive hardware and software level charging protection.

Five different layers of protection are used by VOOC. A brief explanation of each layer follows:
First layer: The protective circuit on the adapter, which even in the event of a malfunction, eradicates hidden danger.
Second layer: An intelligent chip that detects voltage and current to determine whether it is safe to make a flash charge.
Third layer: A second electrical switch located on the connector to reduce voltage and current fluctuations.
Fourth layer: The protection of your cellphone.
Fifth layer: Voltage-fusing protection to stop deviations from acceptable levels.

Furthermore, there are safety measures from the adapter all the way through to the battery. Devices and charging adapters each contain a dedicated charging control unit that monitors a wide variety of parameters in real time, including battery temperature, voltage, current, and path impedance. To avoid abnormal charging, the system will react quickly if any parameter strays from the norm.

GO BEYONG THE WIDER ECOLOGY
Since June 2021, OPPO has more than 195 million flash charging users worldwide, filed approximately 3,000 flash charge related patent applications, and licensed its technology to over 40 companies worldwide, making it one of the fastest and safest technologies currently available.
