Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Platform Is In The New Peugeot 308
November 10, 2021Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platform will be incorporated into the Peugeot i-Cockpit infotainment system. This will be available in the new Peugeot 308, and will allow for crystal-clear graphics on the high-resolution touchscreen display for improved usability.
The platform also supports accurate turn by turn navigation, voice command capabilities, wireless mirroring and premium audio. It uses power-efficient, multi-core CPU and a powerful GPU that allow for integrated machine learning and video processing capabilities.
“The vehicle’s cockpit has become the focal point of how drivers and passengers interact with their vehicles, becoming one of the most decisive points for potential customers when choosing a new vehicle,” said Linda Jackson, CEO of PEUGEOT.
This, Qualcomm says results in “unmatched” connected in-car experiences, responsive interfaces, immersive 4K graphics, media streaming and audio support. The company’s integrated automotive programs continue to expand its telematics range and in-car connectivity business. And with that, it hopes to bring next-gen tech to carmakers around the globe.
The Peugeot 308 is currently available in France but the automaker is making plans to offer the model in more countries beginning in 2022.
