Samsung Encourages Unity This Merdeka Celebration

With a view to bringing about positivity during an difficult period for the nation, Samsung launched ‘Malaysia di Hatiku’, a Merdeka and Malaysia Day themed campaign in partnership with Universal Music Malaysia. A song entitled Malaysia Di Hatiku is being released as part of the campaign, which invites Malaysians to share their wishes and desires for a more hopeful nation.

Malaysia Day and Merdeka are significant milestones in the nation’s development. With these dates approaching, the Malaysia Di Hatiku campaign seeks to revive the Malaysian Muhibbah spirit, especially in light of the current adversities many Malaysians are facing.

“Throughout Malaysia and indeed the entire globe, unprecedented circumstances have occurred over the last year. The ‘Malaysia Boleh’ spirit and goodwill can, however, be brought forth in this struggle. Our aim is to show that music is a platform for connecting people, and we are aiming to share our love with Malaysians and inspire them to strive towards the possibilities our nation can once again achieve,” said Elaine Soh, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

Bringing Malaysians together with music
Samsung and Universal Music Malaysia have released Malaysia Di Hatiku, featuring hip-hop artist Yonnyboii, Tabby from rising girl group Dolla, and rappers Kmy Kmo and Luca Sickta.

A call to all Malaysians to share their love for their country.
Those who are interested in participating in the campaign are invited to sing along with Yonnyboii or Tabby, or if they want to take on an even bigger challenge, they can duet with Kmy Kmo and Luca Sickta. Once participants submit their videos on TikTok, they can caption them with words of encouragement to other Malaysians and include the hashtag #MalaysiaDiHatiku.

Each of the top three creative content entries that capture the spirit of Malaysia Di Hatiku will win a new Samsung Galaxy A32. The winners will be announced on Malaysia Day, 16 September 2021, which falls at the end of the campaign.
