Samsung will be launching a special edition of the Note10+ in conjunction with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, in December. The final installment of the much loved Star Wars saga brings to a close one of the most memorable movie franchises in modern history. And to commemorate the occasion, a Star Wars themed Note10+ will be launched.

Unsurprisingly, the phone will feature Star Wars-inspired design elements and digital content. That means, the special edition phone will be bundled with a specially designed case, a metal badge as a collector’s item, an S Pen, and Galaxy Buds. The entire ensemble will feature a black and red color scheme.

The main box, phone case and metal badge feature the mask of Kylo Ren, the Villain in the movie. This fitting use of red and silver accents provide a realistic detail level to the overall design. The same theme is carried on into the phone software, which features Star Wars themed wallpapers, shutdown animations, icons and sounds.

Samsung says that the phone will be made available to purchase in select markets on December 10, 2019. These markets are Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA. There’s no word on whether this Note10+ will be released in other markets, but one can only hope.

This special edition phone is one of several collaboration efforts between the telecommunications giant and LucasFilm, the studio responsible for the Star Wars franchise. The duo also produced an entertaining short film that draws inspiration from the upcoming movie to create a story of of a dog resembling Chewbacca, as well as a cat that is revealed towards the end of the video who resembles a more sinister character.

The story is meant to showcase the endless possibilities, that are at our fingertips through the use of Samsung devices and its ecosystem of productivity apps. It’s an interesting film and one that does encourage us to look forward to Christmas season.
