Samsung has finally launched the highly anticipated FE model line after skipping a generation with Galaxy S22 Series. Instead of trickling the release of the phones and tablets, the Korean has chosen to release them in a single event. As such, we have the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Buds FE and two versions of the tablet edition: S9 FE+ and S9 FE+.

The Galaxy S23 FE, like its predecessor, happens to be the perfect likeness to the phones they are based on. In this instance, the S23 series. As such, you get the same premium silhouette and floating style rear cameras. Gorilla Glass 5 covers both the front screen and rear panel, this and the elegant aluminium frame makes for a very handsome device.

It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200, which is a generation behind of what’s in the S23 series but, which is still incredibly capable hardware. The vapour chamber helps dissipate heat and make sure that the phone can deliver sustained performance. It’s coupled with 8GB RAM and a choice of either 128GB or 256GB of storage space.

The screen size remains unchanged at 6.4-inches, which puts it in between the S23 and S23+. It’s a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Vision Booster helps make sure that what’s displayed on screen is perfectly visible, regardless of what the lighting conditions are.

In the camera department, the S23 FE gets a 50MP wide (with OIS), 8MP telephoto (3x optical zoom), and 12MP ultrawide sensors. At the front is a 10MP selfie camera. Samsung says that the new hardware allows for pro-grade camera features that help you capture great photos and video, which includes clear selfies and portrait shots at night.

The camera app features a Pro Mode, which lets you control shutter speed, aperture, ISO and more, manually. And by using the Camera Assistant app, you can choose automated features to help make the shooting experience a little more unique. Then, there’s the AI-powered editing tools that can “improve” on what you’ve already captured to ensure great resulting shots.

Samsung has given the S23 FE a 4,500mAh battery, which is the same as the S21 FE. You can expect to charge the phone from empty to 50% in just 30 minutes using a 25W wired charger. And like its predecessor it supports wireless charging as well.

The Galaxy S23 FE is available to purchase at a price of $599 in Mint, Cream, Graphite and Purple. But you can get in Indigo or Tangerine if you purchase the phone on Samsung.com.
