There’s very little doubt that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is the pinnacle of Android tablets. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a device that can rival it, on Google’s side of the mobile OS divide. However, being all-powerful commands a hefty price tag, which dampens the allure of the tablet, somewhat.

That’s where the newly launched Tab S6 Lite comes in. Just like the name suggests, its a slightly watered down version of its flagship sibling. And as such, has the same minimalist design, redesigned S pen and a whole host of other features.

The S pen doesn’t have a battery, so you can work with it all day and not have to worry about wearing it out. It can be magnetically attached to the tablet’s side when not in use instead of on the rear like the regular Tab S6.

Samsung has given the Tab S6 Lite a 10.4-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200, 4GB RAM and a 7,040mAh battery. Surprisingly, it has dual speakers with sound by AKG and Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound, which should help with audio quality.

Also, a tie-up with YouTube and Spotify allow users of the Tab S6 Lite to enjoy 4 months of free access to YouTube Music and YouTube Kids with YouTube Premium. The Spotify app is integrated with the tablet’s interface, allowing for easier access to music, podcasts and the ability to set a specific song as your alarm.

According to Samsung, the Tab S6 Lite will go on sale sometime in Q2 2020 with a price tag of USD349.99 which is significantly lower than the Tab S6’s price of USD649. The device comes in three different colors, which are Oxford Gray, Angora Blue and Chiffon Pink, and are supplied with matching colored S Pens.
