Samsung’s Premium QLED TVs Receive Performance Bump For 2022

Samsung’s premium Neo QLED TVs have received a performance bump for 2022. Introduced at CES, they boast a more vivid picture quality an immersive sound experience. This year’s quantum processor has advanced contrast mapping with BLU (back-light unit). The brightness level has increased from 12 to 14-bit gradation, which requires to 16,384 steps of lighting adjustments from 4,096 (2021).

There’s also the new Shape Adaptive Light technology that uses the quantum processor to analyze lines, shapes and surfaces to control the light front the Mini LEDs. This in turn is supposed to enhance the brightness and accuracy of the shapes that appear on screen, which improves the overall content.

Real Depth Enhancer is a picture quality algorithm that allow the Neo QLED TVs to display a content with a greater sense of realism. This is done by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth. In addition to this, the TVs use OTS (object tracking sound), which make it seem as though the audio feed is coming from the actual action.

When combined, the experience offers a sense of realism that regular televisions simply cannot match. The up-firing multi-channel speakers are partly responsible for the audio quality. Last year’s QN90A QLED TV isn’t far off either. Take a look at our review of it to see how it compared with traditional idiot boxes.

The TVs also have the eye comfort feature. Their screens’ brightness and tone are adjusted automatically based on the ambient light sounding them. This is to adjust to the blue light around the users and help with a better viewing experience, especially at night.
