Sony Improves Its In-Car Audio Players

Sony’s new crop of car receivers (media players) are supposed to offer powerful sound and smart features. These AV receivers are equipped with improved HDMI support that should satisfy users on long journeys.

Car AV receivers XAV-AX8100 and XAV-AX5600 Key Features:
XAV-AX8100 and XAV-AX5600 car AV receivers are improvements over the XAV-AX8000 and XAV-AX5500 models, respectively. The new models offer a new design, better utility, innovative features and powerful audio, as well as an additional HDMI input that lets customers enjoy extended connectivity.


Each model includes a brushed aluminium key terminal with a premium display. The XAV-AX8100 has a 8.95-inch antiglare display while the XAV-AX5600 has a 6.95-inch flush surface one. A three way adjustable mount ensures that the XAV-AX8100 can be adjusted to suit individual needs.


EXTRA BASS and Sound Optimization technology are present to provide customers with a punchy, deep acoustic experience tailored to their car. Connectivity support include Bluetooth, dual USB ports and a 3-pre out output connector. This in addition to the devices’ compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Car AV Receiver XAV-AX150 Features:
The integrated 4-channel amplifier delivers up to 55 watts per channel/ 20 watts per channel power output while its EXTRA BASS technology helps block engine noise and produces bright punchy sound, regardless of the volume level.

DSO is a solution that can be integrated into the interior of any vehicle. It helps create a sound field that will make it appear as though the speakers are attached to the dashboard. Other noteworthy features include FLAC audio format compatibility, Quick Wake Up, 3 pre-outs, and single DIN chassis for good space savings. It also support for a rearview camera and on-screen parking guidelines.
