Sony has finally unveiled the PlayStation 5, the fifth and most advanced iteration of the company’s venerable gaming console. Despite the rumors about it incorporating a V-shaped design, the PS5 makes good use of sharp and angular sides that foldover the tower’s curved middle section. It’s unlike anything we have seen before.

Credit needs to be given to Sony here, for keeping this design a secret till reveal. Many fans weren’t too enthusiastic about the supposed ‘leaked’ images, that though futuristic, lacked appeal. Thankfully, this isn’t so, for the official hardware. Two editions will be available, one will have an ultra HD Blue-ray disc drive, but the other won’t (Digital Edition).

Safe for the Blu-ray player, both version of the PS5 will have identical hardware. They feature a number of accessories too, which include a remote control, webcam, controller docking station and headphones. The PS5’s black and white colour scheme is incorporated into the entire line-up of accessories, and is a major departure from the design aesthetics of its predecessors.
