Sony’s New Micro Bluetooth Speaker Is Coming Soon

March 22, 2021 Off By Naveen Victor

Sony has released a new rough n’ tough portable Bluetooth speaker called the SRS-XB13. It picks up where its predecessor, the XB12 left off by offering IP67 rating (water and dustproof) and 16 hours of battery life. It even has an indicator that shows how much juice is left, so that you can charge it ahead of time.

Similar in appearance to the XB12, the XB13 features a rugged exterior and multiway strap that allows it to hang off your wrist, backpack or anything else. Sony says that if you tilt it upside down, and hang it from an elevated place, the XB13 can create a waterfall of music that provides for an immersive experience.

Despite its size, this little speaker is said to pack quite a punch, thanks to its Sound Diffusion Processor and passive radiator that works with a full range speaker. Working together, they enhance low-end tones, boost bass and propagate sound well in any space. The latter is due to the Sound Diffusion processor’s DSP technology.

The SRS-XB13 features Google’s Fast Pair technology that helps android devices such as smartphones and tablets pair almost instantly with it. Once the XB13 is turned on, your paired smartphone will prompt you to connect with it. It’s that simple. The device also has a USB Type-C port for charging.

Sony is offering the SRS-XB13 in 6 different colours namely, black, blue, taupe, coral pink, powder blue and lemon yellow. It will be available to purchase in Malaysia from August 2021. No word yet on pricing, but shouldn’t deviate very far from the XB12’s RM199 price tag. Visit Sony’s website for more information on this and other devices.
