Steve Wozniak Still Works For Apple

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, revealed that he still earns a paycheck from Cupertino. He made this known during the latest episode of Guy Kawasaki’s Remarkable People podcast. The figure, however, is far lower than we expected.

Wozniak estimated that he earns about $50 a week after taxes. This translates to about $210, a month. Said figure is hardly reflective of Apple’s appreciation for his efforts. In fact, He hasn’t worked for Cupertino in decades. The paycheck that he receives, is merely a symbolic gesture.

It’s given as gratitude for his work and loyalty to the company. He happens to be the only Apple employee to receive a paycheck every week since the company began operating in 1976. Wozniak also revealed that, he can’t see himself working for Apple again.

His outspoken nature and inability to mask his criticism of the company, would make him less than ideal for a position at Apple. In stark contrast to Steve Jobs, Wozniak never really cared much for the limelight and profit share – an engineer through and through.
