It’s not often that we come across budget tech like the the Teclast P10HD. It’s a cheap and cheerful tablet that ticks all the right boxes as a casual media consumption device. The bezels on either side measure just 7mm wide, and the screen, its a 10.1-inch (1920×1200) FHD display.

This is a decent looking tablet with an industrial looking aesthetic. Underneath, there’s an octa-core A55 chip (Unisoc SC9863A) and 3GB RAM. So, performance is more than adequate to accomplish moderate tasks. That coupled with the fact that it ships with Android 9.0 Pie, leads one to believe that it could be a real workhorse.

Teclast is a little known Chinese manufacturer from Guangzhou, China that produces budget laptops and tablets with premium looks and features. The P10HD is no exception, it costs less than half the price of similarly configured Android tablets.

The company says that its 6000mAh battery will allow for 7-hours of screen on time, which isn’t too bad. Admittedly, some corner-cutting was done to price the P10HD this competitively. And as as a result, It only has a 5MP rear and 2MP front camera, so picture quality won’t be great.

On the plus side, it has a an ‘AI Speed-Up’ feature. This supposedly, allows the tablet to learn your usage patterns then optimize apps that are used most often. As a result, it is said to offer an improved user experience. However, we are unable to verify this statement at the time that this article was written.

As unusual as this may sound, besides having 4G connectivity, the tablet can be used as a phone as well. The P10HD is being marketed as a tablet PC, which is a bit of a stretch considering its lack of decent I/O ports (1 x USB Type-C) to extend its functionality beyond that of a regular 10-inch slate.

However, this Teclast offers incredible value for the money, and for a limited period, it’s on sale on banggood.com. If you’re interested in purchasing a tablet but don’t want to burn a hole in your pocket, then the P10HD should be on your shortlist. But if you want something even cheaper, the Teclast P10S should be right up your alley.
