The iPhone 11 is here!

Apple has finally unveiled its smartphone entrant for 2019. This year, Cupertino has chosen to do away with the previous naming system. Instead of the XR, XS and XS Max, we now have the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Each is an incremental upgrade over its respective predecessor.

The iPhone Pro and Pro Max feature a triple rear camera setup: 12 megapixel Wide, Ultra-Wide and Telephoto lens. The iPhone 11 only has to make do with the wide and ultra-wide ones.

Powering the phone is the new A13 bionic chip, which has been built for machine learning, is 20% faster than previous generation iPhones and are touted to be faster than the competition.

All phones will come with iOS 13 that offers several advancements such impressive night mode shots, new camera and photo features, as well as “powerful” video editing features. Face ID is 30% faster now at varying distances and supports more angles.

The iPhone 11 comes in 6 colours while its more advanced siblings are being offered with four colour choices. the former is aimed at the everyday user while the latter two are being marketed to professionals and more hardcore Apple fans.

That said, Apple has chosen to play it safe this year by tweaking last year’s recipe. We will have to wait and see how well they do against the current crop of Android phones.
