The New Full-Range F1.7 Telephoto Zoom
July 8, 2021A new digital interchangeable wide-angle zoom lens from Panasonic is here – the LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. This camera (H-X2550) has an F1.7 aperture throughout its entire 50-100mm zoom range (35mm camera equivalent) as well as exceptionally high optical performance that cleared the stringent LEICA standards. With the LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. Photographers and videographers should both photo shooting and video recording.
This is the new LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. A LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX 10-25mm / F1.7 ASPH lens with a (H-X2550) has been designed to be coupled with it. This lens (H-X1025) has been widely praised by photographers. Both cameras have a high-speed aperture of F1.7 that produces high descriptively and bokeh. They operate as eight fixed focal length lenses (24mm / 28mm / 35mm / 50mm / 75mm / 85mm / 100mm, 35mm camera equivalents), and provide a level of descriptiveness even higher than a single fixed focal length lens. They both share a common aperture, high descriptive performance, shape and operability, so creators can produce unique images with minimal workflow by combining these two lenses.
The 16-element, 11-group lens system includes an aspherical lens and three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lenses that effectively reduce axial chromatic aberrations and chromatic aberrations of magnification. Aspherical lenses also correct spherical aberrations and distortions, resulting in high resolution results.
High-speed, high-precision autofocusing is achieved thanks to compatibility with up to 240 frames per second. Additionally to the silent operation of the inner focus drive system, the micro-step aperture control system is used in the aperture control section to allow the camera to smoothly stay on top of brightness changes while zooming and panning.
In order to minimize the effect of image shifts during zooming, the optics design achieves decent barycentric stability. There is also a focusing ring with which you can control linear/non-linear focusing. With the LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. A mechanism suppresses focus breathing during video recording throughout the zoom range.
DG Vario-Summilux 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.28 meters (at wide end, 0.31 meters at tele end) and a maximum magnification ratio of 0.42 (35mm camera equivalent) for exceptional macro photography. Even in temperatures below zero, the dust-and splash-resisting* design assures an excellent level of outdoor mobility under harsh conditions. The filter diameter is 77mm.
