The Sero, Serif and Frame: TVs Of The Future

Samsung plans on revolutionizing the television industry its unique offerings, which include the Sero, Serif and Frame. Unlike conventional TVs, these new devices able to blend in with any decor. That said, each device serves a unique function.

The Sero
The word Sero means “Vertical” in Korean, which best describes its ability to pivot between a horizontal and vertical screen position/orientation. It’s an impressive feat considering how seamless the movements are. It’s a full-fledged TV that can be rotated to suit the type of content shown on screen.

If users prefer to watch TV the traditional way, the Sero’s orientation can be adjusted accordingly. This allows users get the best out of any content, regardless of which media streaming platform they choose.

And due to its compact design, the Sero requires minimal storage space, allowing it to be placed in just about any location. Its display is fitted with Samsung’s QLED technology that is ideal for high-resolution content and to an extent, deliver an immersive user experience.

The Serif
The end result of the collaborative effort between Samsung and Paris-based designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, The Serif is a TV gifted with a sense of style. And as a result, it picked up the prestigious 2016 iF Design Award, the 2016 Wallpaper Design Award in the UK and the 2016 Good Design Award in Japan.

The 2019 Serif TV is also fitted with cutting-edge QLED technology that delivers exceptional picture quality. Building upon this is the Magic Screen feature. It can display news such as headlines, weather updates as well as pictures, wallpapers or custom designs.

The Frame
This isn’t just a TV, it’s also a digital art display. When not in use, The Frame’s Art Mode displays artwork from over 1,200 masterpieces which include world-renowned paintings and pictures, turning an ordinary living room into an art gallery.

The Frame features QLED tech, which enables the display to offer realistic colour recreation in dark and bright scenes with 100% colour volume by Quantum Dot. That’s not all, the Frame comes with multiple voice assistants pre-installed, which are: Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Through the use of voice commands, users can access a plethora of functions without having to faff about with the clunky remote control. This offers an improved level of convenience compared to how conventional TVs are managed.
