TikTok, the popular short-form mobile video platform, is once again making waves with its latest campaign, #FoodFestOnTikTok. This exciting initiative aims to foster the growth of local food and beverage (F&B) businesses while providing a platform for creators to showcase their culinary creativity. From June 8th to July 9th, 2023, users are invited to embark on a flavorful journey by sharing their food experiences, recommendations, and reviews using the hashtag #FoodFestOnTikTok.

At the heart of the campaign is a thrilling hashtag challenge that encourages users to participate and complete “Foodie” tasks, such as creating their own tantalizing food videos. Throughout the campaign, users can accumulate points and unlock exclusive promotional codes or vouchers based on their achievements. As an added bonus, the top 10 creators with the highest points will have the opportunity to earn a special profile badge on their TikTok profile.

“The #FoodFestOnTikTok campaign is TikTok’s contribution to the local F&B community, helping them reach a wider audience, grow their business, and inspire others with their passion for food,” stated Darren Quek, Strategy Operations Manager, Malaysia, TikTok. The campaign aims to create a vibrant food community that extends beyond the digital realm. To achieve this, TikTok has partnered with the Penang Tourism Board to amplify the local F&B industry both online and offline.

A special highlight of the campaign is the official campaign song, “Jom Makan,” created by Siti Shower and Nu’aim. This catchy tune celebrates the uniqueness of Malaysian culinary fare and can be used by creators to soundtrack their food videos. Siti Shower expressed excitement about contributing their musical talents to #FoodFestOnTikTok, while Nu’aim noted the honor of creating the official campaign music and the hope to inspire fellow creators to showcase their creativity.

Aligning with the goal of empowering local F&B businesses, TikTok Malaysia is proud to partner with the Penang Tourism Board for the second time, leveraging TikTok’s dynamic platform to enhance the visibility of the Penang International Food Festival. Furthermore, TikTok is collaborating with local F&B establishments, including renowned names like myBurgerLab, Soi 55 Thai Kitchen, and Sugar and I, for the campaign. These partnering restaurants will offer exclusive promotions to users who post food videos, with the requirement to tag the respective restaurant’s location.

TikTok’s #FoodFestOnTikTok campaign serves as a testament to the platform’s commitment to supporting local businesses, promoting creativity, and fostering a vibrant food community. As users and creators indulge in their love for food, this initiative will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on both the digital and physical realms, inspiring food lovers to explore new flavors and support their local F&B favorites.
