Unpacked, The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition
September 23, 2020Looks like the rumors were true! Samsung unveiled the S20 Fan Edition at last night’s unpacked event. The rationale behind the phone’s inception, is to cater to the specific needs of customers. The company says it gathered feedback on what fans of the S20 wanted, and tried to deliver, as best as they could.
As such, the S20 FE is basically a mishmash of sorts. It sports the same look as the S20 line, but with slightly watered down specs. For instance, it has as a 6.5-inch display, making it a little bigger than the S20, but smaller than the S20+. However, it has a much lower resolution than both of them, at 1080 x 2400. However, and if its of any consolation, this display has a 120Hz refresh rate.
It has a 32MP selfie camera and utilizes tetra-binning technology to capture ‘post-worthy’ shots. Supposedly, minimal effort is required on your part, but the end results would insinuate the contrary to be true. On the rear, it gets the same ultra wide and wide angle 12MP sensors as the S20, but the telephoto has been reduced to 8MP.

That said, the phone gets the same AI technology, image stabilization and multi-frame processing, to help you capture more vibrant pictures, regardless of the lighting conditions. Space zoom is limited to just 30x, which should be adequate for most people. On the plus side, there’s a 4,500mAh battery, which is on par with the bigger Galaxy S20+
The Phone is also IP68 rated, meaning that it is water and dust resistant. Also, it has wireless charging and wireless power share, the same stuff that the regular S20 line have. But unlike them, the FE comes in 6 funky colours which are: Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White.
Samsung guarantees that the S20 FE will received three generations of Android OS updates, which is in line with the rest of its product line up. Priced at RM3,399.00 the Galaxy S20 FE 5G will be available for pre-orders beginning from 24th September 2020, 10:00AM until 8th October 2020 (or while stocks last).
