Use Samsung’s Wearable App To Control Your Watch and Earbuds
October 3, 2021If you find the idea of managing several different gadgets at once somewhat debilitating, you aren’t alone. Sensory overload is a common problem associated with modern, always-connected devices. This is why most people choose the smartphone as the only device they carry with them.
It’s also why they refuse to delve deeper into the world of wearables – it’s just too cumbersome to set things up and manage. Though the sentiment is understandable, it’s also unwarranted if you’ve heard of but simply ignored apps like Samsung’s Wearable.
The Wearable app aims to do away with the clutter of managing multiple devices. It can manage your Samsung Smartwatch, Wireless Earbuds and other wearable devices. The selling point is its ability to natively control all aspects of the respective watch and earbuds’ settings and other characteristics.
To pair a Galaxy Smartwatch, place it near your smartphone, then launch the Wearable app. Choose to add the device, and follow the setup process. If you’ve backed up data from a previous watch, the compatible data will be migrated to the new one. Once paired, you can change watch faces, adjust tile orders, add items to quick panels and access the Play Store.
You can do this without accessing the watch’s diminutive 1.4-inch display and sifting through the almost microscopic excerpts to find what you want. The same is true of installing apps and adjusting the overall watch’s behaviour including the display properties. If you’ve misplaced your watch, the Wearable app can ask it to emit an audible alert tone.
As for a pair of Samsung wireless earbuds, the experience is even simpler. Just open the earbuds case and launch the Wearable apps (make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the smartphone). In an instant, you’ll be prompted to confirm pairing your selected earbuds with the Wearables app. Once done, the earbuds will show up on the list of paired devices.
The Wearable app allows you to change music settings, adjust noise cancelling features and various other features. The app negates the need for accessing Bluetooth settings or to mess about with other generic connection options to get your devices to communicate with each other.
Now, you can use your smartphone to control these connected devices individually. In theory, you will never need to access device settings on your smartwatch ever again. The same is true of other wearables that offer similar functionality.
