Many of us rely on Google Calendar to help keep our days organized, from scheduling work appointments to ensuring that we make it to places and events on time. Its importance is far more significant to Gsuite users compared to those who use the free version.

Here are a few ways that you can best utilize Google Calendar and its array of features:

Show timezones of participants
It can be difficult to keep tracking of participants in different time zones. It’s an issue that has plagued many organisations, especially when trying to keep team members in sync. Now however, its no longer a problem.

In Google Calendar, click on Settings, and under Time zone click the box to display secondary tome zone and choose your prefeered time zone. For multiple time zones , scroll to world clock, then select show world clock. Here, the selcted time zones will show up.

Be mindful of collaborators’ working hours
Working remotely, does create several challenges, especially when working with team members scattered all over the world. Keep tabs on their working hours when scheduling a meeting.

Go to Settings and setup your own working hours. Then, enable working hours. Select the days ad times that you work. Ask your co-workers to do the same. Now, when you schedule meetings, Google Calendar will let you know if its within their working hours.

Share your calendar
Adjust your default settings to make it easy for team members to view an event’s full details. But to share your calendars with specific people, go to the My Calendars, hover over the calendar you want to share and click More.

Choose Settings and sharing then select the people you would like to share your calendars with. This way, you can also keep tabs on who sees what, and make necessary changes when needed.

Make Events Invisible
There are times when you need to schedule a private meeting with certain team members. But how do you ensure that unrelated parties are kept in the dark about it? In Calendar, open the event that you want, click Default Visibility. Then choose private setting, and click save.

Schedule meetings to finish early
It can be difficult to make sure meetings don’t extend beyond the intended time, which would cut into your next appointment. In your Calendar settings, scroll down to Event Settings and click Speedy Meetings box and choose your preferred choice.
