V2X, also known as Vehicle-to-Everything, is an always connected tech that leverages the advantages of 5G connectivity to enhance a vehicle’s capabilities. It’s something that Samsung has come up with, as a solution for distracted driving and easing traffic congestion.
Vehicles with V2X, will receive real-time updates, keeping drivers informed of obstacles, problems and traffic build-ups en route to their destination. This technology was announced at CES 2020, where Samsung also demonstrated how 5G TCU (Telematics Control Unit) paired with V2X technology, will be beneficial to drivers and help keep them safe while on the road.
These new enhanced features are aimed at providing a more comfortable, safer and pleasant driving experience. Check out this video to see how V2X technology detects obstacles, emergency vehicles, pedestrians as well deliver general traffic information.
It’s tech like this that will help improve road safety and help reduce the number vehicle related accidents that occur each year. Here’s to hoping all major automakers adopt such a system sometime in the near future!
