Tough Tablets For Even Tougher Work

Tablets aren’t as popular as they used to be, because people simply don’t have much use for them. Today’s smartphones have gargantuan screens that are considered more than enough for average consumers. But there are times or professions, that require far more screen real estate, such as that offered by tablets. But not just any tablet, rugged ones that can take quite a beating.

A company called Getac, produces such toughened Windows tablets meant to aide emergency services personnel (UX10-IP)or those working in high-risk environments (UX10-EX). They are 10-1-inch tablets that have a toughened plastic exterior. And as such, they able to withstand a drop of heights of up to 6-feet.

The tablets also have handles on the top for better convenience. The buttons on the outer shell are sealed, so there’s no chance of water or dust getting into the internals. And if need be, they can be ordered with a toughened keyboard and trackpad that are just as durable. Getac offers key software utilities to be used alongside the various tablet configurations.

Powered by Intel’s 10th gen Quad-core i5 or i7, processors and exceptionally fast NVMe SSDs, the UX10-IP and UX10-EX are intended for rough use and where time is of the essense. Various barcode, RFID or RS232 modules can be added for use in manufacturing facilities or services work. They also have GPS, WiFi6, Bluetooth and 4G LTE connections.

Besides this, they also have a 9240mAh battery, which should be enough for an entire day of continuous usage. These aren’t your average run off the mill tablets, they are vital tools to aide emergency personnel n getting their jobs done as quickly as possible.
