A new HDR10+ GAMING standard will be supported on the gaming monitors to provide gamers with a more immersive, flexible, and responsive gaming experience. A list of 4K and 8K games powered by NVIDIA GPUs will be announced at CES 2022 along with the new HDR gameplay.

HDR Technology Sustains the Artistic Intention of Game Developers

Game developers will be given the tools they need to create HDR gaming experiences without requiring manual calibration across a variety of display technologies and input sources, including consoles, PCs, and more with this new standard developed by HDR10+ Technologies, LLC.

With Samsung’s 2022 TV and gaming monitor lineup, you can automate HDR calibration for stunning picture quality to meet game developers’ demands. Samsung’s 2022 television and gaming monitor lineup will support HDR10+ GAMING standard. A consequence of this is an unprecedented level of responsiveness and accuracy in gaming.

Since the game engine removes the need for manual settings when loading video game content, a feature previously only available with movie and television content, video game content is automatically optimized in real time.

Game players will be able to see and react to everything on screen thanks to this feature that preserves details in the dark shadows and the brightest highlights. Also, a gamer does not need to spend time setting the game settings since the display is set to “true reference mode”, which provides better color.

In the upcoming CES 2022, a number of gaming companies, including Saber Interactive, are expected to present HDR10+ GAMING titles.

Video game picture quality is about to enter a new era as a result of Samsungy efforts. “Gaming fans of all ages will have access to cutting-edge visuals for the best gaming experience with HDR10+ GAMING”, according to Todd Hollenshead, Saber Interactive’s Head of Publishing. “Introducing Redout 2, the fastest anti-gravity racer ever made, and Pinball FX, a brand new way to experience digital pinball. The HDR10+ GAMING standard is bringing the best gaming experience ever to the world.”

In addition, Game Mechanic Studios is demonstrating their HDR10+ GAMING title “Happy Trails and the Kidnapped Princess,” which is scheduled to launch in 2022.

HDR10+ adoption and industry support continue to expand

By adjusting brightness, contrast, and color at the scene or frame level, HDR10+ brings superior picture quality. With over 4,000 devices supported across 128 partners, including TVs, projectors, smartphones, and tablets, HDR10+ has gained traction across the industry in the past four years. Content creators can also define reference tones and mapping curves with HDR10+’s metadata, enabling them to deliver images that are more impactful and that show what they intended.

As of 2022, NVIDIA will release drivers for the HDR10+ GAMING standard on the GeForce RTX 30 Series, RTX 20 Series, and GTX 16 Series graphics.
