Apple is doing it’s part to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in China. According to Reuters, Cupertino will be closing all its official stores and corporate office in mainland China till February 9th.

Wuhan, ground zero for the SARS-like virus, has been put on lock down by the Chinese government to lessen the impact of this novel virus. This will affect Apple in a major way because several of its suppliers are also located in said city. This could have serious ramifications of Apple’s supplies and sales this quarter.

The novel coronavirus has killed 305 people and infected more than 14,500 others. Many major airlines have stopped servicing flight routes to China. As a means to prevent the spread of said virus, several countries have also banned those travelling from China, from entering.

Apple has joined several other multinational companies including Google, in shuttering its offices till the spread of the coronavirus is under control. That said, Cupertino hopes to reopen its places of business as soon as possible.
