Samsung has announced the arrival of the A55 5G and A35 5G and they bring improvements and enhancements that should entice many consumers. Visually, the phones look a little more refined than their predecessors, which brings them in line with this year’s design language.

The company says that the new devices demonstrate its ongoing commitment to making its technology available to the average Joe. As such, they are being offered flagship-like security features, improved camera capabilities and better performing displays.

“With the Galaxy A series, we are expanding our latest technologies to a wider audience so that more people can benefit from them,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile experience Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are excited to open up even more possibilities on the Galaxy A series this year.”

Cameras
Thanks to the improved nightography features of the A55 5G, it now takes clearer and more vibrant photos even in poor lighting conditions. The advanced AI Image Signal Processing produces better low-light images that its predecessor couldn’t offer. Night Portrait mode and 12-bit HDR video ensure the people in every image look decent.

Both Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G offer optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS, that in Samsung’s opinion, keeps photos and videos looking crips even when moving around.

These phones feature the same size, 6.6-inch Super AMOLED displays, which should help with productivity. The presence of vision booter helps them offer clearer and brighter images. The A54 5G had a slightly smaller screen, so the extra real estate should be well accepted.

Security
The new Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G come with Samsung Knox Vault. It’s Samsung’s hardware and software security measure that keeps your personal data safe and away from intruders.

It offers comprehensive protection against both hardware and software. It lets your personal and secure information work by being physically isolated from the system’s main processor and memory.

It can help protect your lock screen credentials, PIN codes, passwords, and patterns. It also protects device encryption keys, encrypting users’ confidential data stored in the device. Then there’s Samsung Knox, which is designed to safeguard critical information and protect against vulnerabilities.

Auto Blocker, is an opt-in package of additional security measure that can block app installations from unauthorized sources, provide app security checks to scan for potential malware and block potentially malicious commands and software installations to your device while connected by USB cable.

Users will also have access to Galaxy’s Security and Privacy Dashboard, which allows them to see and control what is happening to their data and withdraw any permissions whenever they choose.

With Private Sharing (part of Quick Share), Samsung says it enables the secure and encrypted sharing of private files containing important personal or financial information. Users can control the recipient’s access permissions and the file’s expiration date, while also choosing to limit screenshots or downloads.

The Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G will support up to four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and five years of security updates. This should keep them up to date and secure for several years of use. Local pricing should follow soon.
