Apple’s brick and mortar stores that were closed in Greater China to help curb the Coronavirus outbreak, have reopened. This is in line with news that the country is reporting a significant decrease in new infections.

But, as most the country gets back to work, Cupertino has decided to shut all stores outside Greater China until March 27th. Though cases of COVID-19 continue to fall in China, cases worldwide continue to surge at an unprecedented rate.

The company says that the health and well-being of its employees are of paramount importance. And this reflects a similar approach taken in China during the Lunar New Year holidays. It believes that by reducing gatherings, it can do its part to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Fret not, this move will not affect your online purchases. Apple is confident that its online store and the App Store will be able to satisfy customer purchases. For service and support, customers can visit support.apple.com.

Cupertino also says that is adopting flexible working arrangements for its offices located outside of Greater China. Those whose work allow them to work remotely, have Apple’s blessing, but employees who need to accomplish tasks on site, are asked to follow the company’s stipulated interpersonal space guidelines.

Though this may seem like a drastic move to some, Apple should be commended for placing the well-being of its employees and customers before its bottom line. In these difficult times, its comforting to know that MNC corporations are doing their part to combat this pandemic.
