Apple introduces AirPods Pro
October 29, 2019 Off By Rowena CletusApple has officially announced the AirPods Pro, which is the follow up to its original wireless earbuds. Aesthetically, it looks similar, safe for the arced neck. Though still retaining the original’s minimalist silhouette, the Pro has a much smaller stem that leads to a more curvaceous earpiece. It’s fitted with flexible silicone ear tips to help seal the ear canal for a better fit and improved sound quality.
The new AirPods use a new vent system that help equalize pressure in the ears. And thanks to sweat and water-resistance, these earpieces can be worn anywhere, even during your workout sessions a the gym. And unlike the original AirPods, the Pro has noise cancelling functionality. This is achieved with the use of two microphones and advanced software that continuously adapt the sound signal 200 times per second.
Users can switch between Active Noise Cancellation or Transparency modes, by tapping on the force sensor. It can also be used to play, pause or skip tracks and answer or hang up phone calls as well as interact with Siri. Adaptive EQ, delivers improved sound quality and extends battery life with the help of high-excursion, low-distortion speaker that’s designed to give better sound quality and remove background noise.
Like its predecessor, the new AirPods Pro connect to your paired iOS devices the moment the charging case is opened. Apple says that on a single charge, they will be able to deliver 5 hours of listening time. When active noise cancellation is on, battery life drops to 4 and half hours. But, when used in combination with the case, you get 24 hours of listening time or 18 hours of talk time.
Retailing for $249 (US), the Apple AirPods Pro are available to order on apple.com and the Apple Store app starting today in the US and 25 other countries. AirPods Pro will start shipping by Wednesday, October 30.
