Ruark Introduces New 100-Series Sound Systems With Retro Inspired Design

Ruark has released its 100 Series music systems in Malaysia. The new line signals an evolutionary leap in audio quality for the brand. Offering retro inspired music systems that encase innovative hardware, the company is attempting to strike a balance between tasteful styling and audiophilic sound experience. The R410 encompasses these characteristics with a classic look melded with a color, high resolution display.

The 70s inspired styling makes the R410 a nice addition to a room’s decor. Ruark used high quality materials to create the system, from the hand-crafted grille and cabinet to the precision-formed components. The balance in proportions between cabinet, amplifier, and drive unit, make for a tasteful overall look.

Ruark claims that the grille and enclosure are engineered from sustainable woods that have been spliced, coloured and recomposed. This has resulted in eco-wood that resembles slow growing hardwoods but with the benefits of consistent grain patterns. In addition to this, the colour is also less prone to change with time.

The optimised reflex enclosure with the cabinet provides ideal conditions for long-throw NS+ bass-mid units. Ruark says that the unts are larger in diameter than previous models and can deliver more powerful bass and a more natural mid-range. The custom 20mm tweeters also add to the overall details.

Ruark selected new gen digital amplifiers that provide high efficiency and output with ultra-low distortion. A two-channel amplifier assembly is mounted directly onto the rear of each bass mid-unit to keep the signals path as short as possible. The optimised components, Burr-Brown DACs, a fully active speaker system and the latest audio processing technologies, should make the R410 a great music companion.

Speaking of the launch, Alan O’Rourke, Managing Director, Ruark, said, ““After three years of development, we are truly excited as to what the 100 Series offers and believe that it will open a new and exciting chapter for Ruark. Apart from the tweeter drivers taken from our award-winning MR1 speakers, absolutely everything about our 100 Series is new!”

Designed primarily for streaming services and online radio services, the R410’s UI can be accessed via the colour display. Its portrait orientation has been designed to emulate how we’re’ used to interacting with our music apps on smartphones. The RotoDial controller offers a pleasing tactile feel, reminiscent of classic music systems. It can be used to navigate said UI and handle various commands.

The processor can support high quality audio files and streams. This includes support for Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay. The R410 also has a built-in Chromecast, which allows you to instantly handover the music playback from your smartphone to the music system. Despite the forward-thinking compatibility, it also supports legacy devices like turntables and CD drives.

Besides the improved RotoDial control system, Ruark also includes a rechargeable remote with the R410. It’s a Bluetooth unit, which means it doesn’t need to be pointed at the system like conventional remotes do.

If you’re interested in the R410, its available to purchase toward the end of Q4 2023 for RM8,899 at selected stores like Atlas Sound and Vision (The Gardens Mall), Charlie Care, Audio Concept, Grex Multimedia, Mylo Trading, Impulse Gaming (KL Flagship Store), Begins Acoustic, Style Laser, TechX Malaysia, Top Audio Marketing, Maison Audio, Direct-D, Asia Sound Equipment, Cinesound Gallery, Harmonic AV, Shomez, Lazada and Shopee.
