Apple iPhone 12 Hits Shelves, Spurs Annual Pilgrimage

Apple’s brand spanking new smartphones, the iPhone 12 go on sale today. The most advanced phones Cupertino has ever made, are powered by the new A14 Bionic chipset, which features a powerful neural engine catered to AR and AI capabilities.

They are faster, feature better cameras and are outfitted with better displays than their predecessors. Though this year’s phones are only incrementally better than the ones they replace, their outward looks are quite appealing.

And though Apple has made things much easier for customers to purchase their phones online, diehard fanboys still prefer the more cumbersome method. The annual pilgrimage to Apple Stores has become a way of life for some.

The act of camping outside a store the night before launch day, braving the harsh weather and relentless jeers of passersby, just to be the first in line to buy a new iPhone, is something that only Apple fans can relate to. This year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, many chose to do the same. They headed to a brick-and-mortar such as that in Singapore, to buy their iPhone 12.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in blue, green, black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED starting at $799 and $699, respectively.
