Apple Recognizes Noteworthy Apps At Design Awards

Apple highlighted a number of developers during its annual Design Awards. This was done in recognition of their respective apps that have been deemed “thoughtful and creative”. Cupertino says that such apps provide users with new ways of working, creating and playing.

Here are the list of apps that won:

Darkroom
Created by Bergen Co., Darkroom is a photo and video editor application that is easy to use and offers a variety of functions. The learning curve isn’t too steep, making it an ideal choice for casual and pro photographers alike. It is integrated with Apple’s software that include photo and camera APIs, Home Screen quick actions, contextual menus, and haptics.

Looom
Developed by iorama. studio, the app is an animation tool that draws inspiration from music creation software. Users can create playful, hand-drawn stop-motion animations that are catered to pros and regular consumers. Made for iPadOS, Looom supports the Apple Pencil and Dark Mode.

Shapr 3D
It’s a powerful CAD app made for the iPad. Shapr 3D offers architectural and technical drawing abilities, allowing designers to make the most of their modeling and rendering work. The app provides users access to a modeling toolset that can be used for creating complex 3D models. Later this year, it will also support LiDAR scanning for generation of 2D and 3D model plans for AR.

StaffPad
Created by Staffpad Ltd., it converts handwritten musical notations into digital sheets of music. The app is designed to help composers to write and compose music easily, and in a paperless environment. It supports the Apple Pencil, drag and drop functionality as well as Core ML.
