The pandemic has made us change how we interact with the world around us. Social distancing guidelines have also played a part in isolating us from the activities and gatherings that we have come to enjoy. An example of this is hitting the gym for a cardio workout. But Apple wants to change that by bringing the gym to you!

“Being more active is one of the most important things we can do for our health, but we know choosing to work out can often be a challenge whether you’re very active or just getting started,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s senior director of Fitness Technologies.

Apple calls it Fitness+, and its a streaming service for workout videos that will be made available on December 14th. It’s able to recommend and suggest workouts that best suit your preference. It also allows you to choose your trainer, time, workout and music you would like during a session. Each, week it delivers new content across all workout types with a variety of trainers.

There’s also an Absolute Beginners workout regiment. Here, users are touching the basics of HIIT, Strength, Core, and Yoga, as an option to prepare for the weekly studio workouts. Rowing, Cycling, and Treadmill workouts have thier own ‘Getting Started’ videos that show how to set up the equipment, and introduce proper form and technique.

In addition to this, Fitness+ is integrated with your Apple Watch to provide extra motivation, workout data and time remaining during each session. If a trainer says to check your heart rate, the Apple Watch’s heart rate metrics are spotlighted. It’s supposed to provide an immersive workout routine that allows you to focus and achieve the intended goals.
