Apple has launched its highly anticipated Apple Watch Series 7. Like the rumors’ suggested, the new timepiece is slightly larger with extremely narrow bezels. Touting it as an edge-to-edge display, the screen is 20% wider than the Series 6’s and with40% thinner bezels (1.7mm). Though the entire look hasn’t changed much, the watch has more rounded corners and a thicker glass.

The Series 7 comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes with an always-on retina display that is about 70% brighter indoors than that of the Series 6. It also has a new QWERTY keyboard that can be typed or swiped with QuickPath. On device machine learning tries to anticipate a user’s next word based on the context of a sentence, making it more convenient to type on.

Apple says the Series 7’s front crystal is over 50% thicker than that of the Series 6, which should make it more resistant to cracks. The watch is also certified IP6X dust-resistant and with a water resistance rating of WR50. On a single charge, the Series 7 offers 18-hour battery life. It charges 33% faster than the Series 6 with its magnetic fast charger USB-C cable.

Like its predecessors the new watch comes with an electrical heart sensor and ECG app, and a Blood Oxygen sensor and app. There are also new workout types, Mindfulness app, better access to Apple Wallet and Home app as well as enhancements to Messages and the Photo app. The watch’s aluminum case is available in midnight, starlight, green, and a new blue and (PRODUCT)RED.
