Samsung SmartTag3 Is Smaller, More Useful And Available To Samsung & iOS Users
October 6, 2026Samsung has unveiled its third iteration of the Galaxy SmartTag3, which has undergone a significant transformation. The new model boasts a 35% reduction in size and a 33% decrease in weight compared to its predecessor. This compact design makes it convenient to carry alongside keys, various-sized bags, and even pet collars.
The SmartTag3 has a sleek and polished appearance, complemented by an aluminum button. Notably, it introduces cross-OS compatibility, allowing it to seamlessly function with both Samsung and iOS devices. This universal tracker caters to users regardless of their smartphone’s operating system, providing a versatile solution for anyone.
The SmartThings Find feature allows users to effortlessly check and share the location of a tag. Additionally, the Search Nearby function enables users to track items across supported devices. These tools provide users with the ability to monitor their belongings regardless of their current whereabouts.

Equipped with Bluetooth 6.0, the SmartTag3 offers improved distance and directional guidance from up to 60 meters away, approximately three times the range of its predecessor. As users approach the tag, ultra-wideband (UWB) technology enhances accuracy. For instance, if a set of keys goes missing on a journey, Compass View can assist users in pinpointing its location from a distance and providing precise guidance as they draw nearer.
To ensure the safety of their belongings, users can utilize the Place Notification feature. This feature notifies users when a tag moves out of a designated area, making it particularly useful for tracking items and pets that wander off.
Galaxy SmartTag3 maintains its IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. NFC-powered Lost Mode allows users to display registered contact information or a short message when a lost tag is scanned with a compatible mobile device.
Battery life is impressive, with a rating of 550 days under standard usage and extending to up to 790 days in power-saving mode.
Samsung Galaxy SmartTag3 will be available first in Korea starting October 7, 2026, followed by the United States. Additional markets will be introduced in 2027. The new model will be available in two colors: White and Black.
