BenQ is introducing its latest 4K, LED projector it calls the W4000i. It is being marketed as an immersive home theatre system that can produce picture quality the way the content makers intended.

The company also says that the W4000i delivers consistently balanced brightness to suit various lighting conditions. Since it uses an LED light source, there’s decent colour accuracy. The use of BenQ’s proprietary HDR-PRO technology allows for better quality content. Local contrast enhancement and optimal HDR tone mapping help to retain details of the content.

Said local contrast enhancement is an algorithm that divides each scene into 1000+ zones and optimises each zone gamma independently. BenQ also says that it preserves minute details in bright regions as well as shadowy areas of the screen. The provided CinematicColor Factory Calibration report is the company’s way of ensuring first time users that the W4000i is colour accurate out-of-box.

The W4000i features a 4LED light source, 3200 ANSI-lumen high brightness and the flexibility of projecting 1.3X big zoom on a 100” screen from just 2.5m, 2D lens shift (Vertical 0%-60%; Horizontal ±15%) and 2D keystone, which can fit most rooms.

It conforms to the 100% Rec.709 HDTV colour space, the wider 100% DCI-P3 digital filmmaking colour spectrum, and the super-wide BT.2020 ideal-colour future standard. The W4000i is an Android TV projector that comes preloaded with the Netflix app. It can connect to the internet wirelessly and offers various AV connectivity options.

The BenQ W4000i is available for purchase at RM 14,999 on Shopee from 15 August 2023 onwards. For more information on this product visit the BenQ official page.
