Google is planning on bringing various streaming platforms into a single place. This is happening with the update of Google TV OS that’s available on televisions from Sony, Hisense and Philips that run the search giant’s operating system. The feature is also being pushed to compatible Chromecasts.

This new live TV experience lets you browse more than 800 TV channels from various providers like Tubi, Plex, Haystack News and Pluto TV. There are also free channels within Google TV that you can watch without having to download specific apps. You’ll also be able to access news channels like NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX.

Google says that there’s also a new TV guide that organizes these free channels into a single place for easier access to content. Saving channels that you like to ‘Favourites” ensure that they are placed at the top of said guide.

Subscriptions from YouTube TV, Sling TV or over-the-air channels can be accessed via the Live tab. The new features added to Google TV aim to make it easy for users to access the content of their choice.

For now, the “new” Google TV will only be available to supported devices in the U.S. in the coming weeks. There are plans to bring the new features to eligible Android devices later in the year.
