BMW Helps Facilitate EV Infrastructure Development In Malaysia
January 15, 2022BMW has collaborated with several industry players to help develop the infrastructure needed to support the roll out of electric vehicles in Malaysia. The effort is to facilitate conversations on sustainable solutions, which could pave the way for the adoption of EVs as the primary vehicle of choice for Malaysian car buyers.
The partnership involved BMW Malaysia Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Siemens Malaysia, Samsung Malaysia and Glenfiddich by William Grant & Sons.
This event, named NEXTGen Malaysia is a public multi-stakeholder sustainability event that lasts for 3 days beginning on January 13th. It focuses on the sustainability and electrified mobility, officiated by YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, Hans de Visser said, “Much like our partners, we believe the future is electric and there is a need for shared responsibility amongst stakeholders at every level to come together and develop sustainable solutions for the betterment of tomorrow.”
The collaboration involves the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing between BMW Group Malaysia and its partners, MGTC, TNB, and Siemens Malaysia for the development of an ecosystem that can support the sustainability of electric vehicles in the country.
Automakers are turning their attention to the development of electric vehicles in an attempt to curb our impact on climate change. NEXTGen is just one of several vehicles being used to to steamroll of said implementation. In addition to this, incentives for EV ownerhisp being provided by governments including our own, could create fertile ground for the adoption of electric vehicles.
NEXTGen Malaysia is taking place at Mandarin Oriental KL from 13th to 15th January 2022. There will be a line-up of public keynote speeches and panel discussions featuring leaders and experts in the field of sustainability across various industries.
Samsung, which is the official screen partner for the event, will be showing off its best TVs to attendees at said event, which include The Frame and the family of Neo QLED 8K displays.
